Dr. Lara Ruthnam is a neurologist originally from Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast. She moved to Melbourne to complete her medical degree at the University of Melbourne, followed by her internship and physician training at Austin Hospital and Northern Hospital.

Dr. Ruthnam subsequently completed her neurology training at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Austin Hospital. She further advanced her expertise through fellowships in Stroke and Movement Disorders at Austin Hospital.

In addition to these sub specialties, she has also worked in the Headache Clinic and General Neurology. Her special interests are in:

• Movement Disorders

• Stroke

• Headache

• Botulinum toxin injection (for headache, dystonia, hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm)

Outside of work, Dr. Ruthnam enjoys baking and rock climbing.
